Well that is just FN Fantastic: FN SCAR-SC Released for LEO Sales

FN?! Why do you do these things? I want one too… -Lamentations from the Editor

FN is pleased to announce  the release of the FN SCAR®-SC  carbine, available to U.S. federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The 5.56x45mm-caliber FN SCAR-SC builds on the FN SCAR heritage with an extremely compact design that’s ideal for special response teams and SWAT. The new FN SCAR-SC will be on display at FN’s booth (#13662) at 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jan. 22 – 26, 2018.

Specifically adapted for mobility and flexibility, the 5.56x45mm-caliber FN SCAR-SC builds on the FN SCAR heritage with an extremely compact design that’s ideal for special response teams and SWAT. The FN SCAR-SC is offered in the U.S. as select-fire only with a non-reciprocating charging handle and telescoping buttstock. Existing users of FN SCAR will already be familiar with how to operate this rifle, minimizing training time.

I’ve been a stalwart SCAR fan since acquiring my SCAR17 a few years ago. It is a peerless platform in my mind. I’ve been chasing the idea of adding the 5.56 into the fold for well over a year and then FN announced this!

In Europe… so after that sting faded this release hit my inbox later last night!

For LEO Sales… I’m glaring through the internet at my officer friends this morning.

Will someone please run from the SB Tactical booth over FNH and put an SBPDW next to the SCAR-SC?

SCAR Sub-Compact Pistols… think of the glorious possibilities!

Until then keep up the good work FN. The features on the SCAR-SC (especially the non-reciprocating charging handle, one of the platforms larger criticisms) sound like several excellent evolutionary upgrades and with a thriving aftermarket FN still has a plenty of space for the SCAR rifles to thrive.
