  • SHAWN THE TERMINATOR
  • SAVAGE PAWN SHOP OWNER

TERMINATOR: [picking up guns] The 12-gauge auto-loader.

PAWN SHOP OWNER: That’s Italian. You can go pump or auto.

[hands the Terminator the pump action shotgun]

TERMINATOR: The .45 long slide, with laser sighting.

PAWN SHOP OWNER: [hands the Terminator a .45 gun] These are brand new; we just got them in. That’s a good gun. Just touch the trigger, the beam comes on and you put the red dot where you want the bullet to go. You can’t miss. Anything else?

TERMINATOR: Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

PAWN SHOP OWNER: [annoyed] Hey, just what you see, pal!

TERMINATOR: [looks around] The Uzi nine millimeter.

PAWN SHOP OWNER: You know your weapons, buddy. Any one of these is ideal for home defense. So uh, which will it be?

TERMINATOR: [pointing the 12-gage shotgun towards the door] All.

PAWN SHOP OWNER: I may close early today. There’s a 15-day wait on the hand guns but the rifles you can take right now.

[sees the Terminator load his 12-gage shotgun]

PAWN SHOP OWNER: You can’t do that.

TERMINATOR: Wrong! [shoots the clerk]

READ BY Jeremy Tonight we are going to do We Like Shooting Theater sponsored by Manticore Arms. Where we re-enact movie scenes, our style. Tonight we will perform a scene from “Abbott and Costello’s Who is on first skit”.

Abbott: Shawn

Costello: Aaron

Abbott: Strange as it may seem, they give ball players nowadays very peculiar names.

Costello: Funny names? That is kind of racist man?

Abbott: Nicknames, I mean nicknames. Now, on the Detroit Tigers team we have Who’s on first, What’s on second, I Don’t Know is on third–

Costello: That’s what I want to find out. I want you to tell me the names of the fellows on the Detroit Tigers.

Abbott: I’m telling you. Who’s on first, What’s on second, I Don’t Know is on third–

Costello: You know the fellows’ names?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: Well, then who’s playing first?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: I mean the fellow’s name on first base.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The fellow playin’ first base.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy on first base.

Abbott: Who is on first.

Costello: Well, what are you askin’ me for?

Abbott: I’m not asking you–I’m telling you. Who is on first.

Abbott: I’m asking you–who’s on first?

Abbott: That’s the man’s name.

Costello: That’s who’s name?

Abbott: Yes.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Costello: When you pay off the first baseman every month, who gets the money?

Abbott: Every dollar of it. And why not, the man’s entitled to it.

Costello: Who is?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: So who gets it?

Abbott: Why shouldn’t he? Sometimes his wife comes down and collects it.

Costello: Who’s wife?

Abbott: Yes. After all, the man earns it.

Costello: Who does?

Abbott: Absolutely.

Costello: Well, all I’m trying to find out is what’s the guy’s name on first base?

Abbott: Oh, no, no. What is on second base.

Costello: I’m not asking you who’s on second.

Abbott: Who’s on first!

Talk about Savage’s Hypocrisy in the gun debate editorial.

  1. Hey Savage, I’m sure you’re all over this but I was wondering if you could cover this on going ballistic. We need help here in LA. They are making millions of law abiding citizens into criminals. This is their tactic. They’re trying to get us to break the law in order for us to become “criminals” and lose our gun rights. Any kind of publicity would help at this point. If there is anything I can do on my end please let me know. Thank you. Sincerely, Rodin. And as always keep up the excellent work!

Reddit thread, and the link to the specific laws regarding this

Ordinances enacted pursuant to the police power are valid unless they conflict with state law.3 A conflict exists if the ordinance contradicts, duplicates, or enters an area occupied by general law, either expressly or by legislative implication

“An ordinance contradicts state law if it is inimical to state law; i.e., it penalizes conduct that state law expressly authorizes or permits conduct which state law forbids.”5 Local law is duplicative of state law if it is coextensive with state law.6 Finally, “local legislation enters an area that is ‘fully occupied’ by [state] law when the Legislature has expressly manifested its intent to ‘fully occupy’ the area or when it has impliedly done so.”7

Message: Hey,

Firstly I just wanted to say that you guys are Fucking Great! I work in an office and work on excel spreadsheets all day. It gets boring really fast but I found your podcast last week and now I give zero shits about the work I\’m doing as long as I\’ve got you guys going on in my headset.

The reason I\’m writing is the Canik TP-9SA.  I\’m looking to get into competitive pistol shooting to work my way into 3 gun even though it is by far my strongest of the three segments. I was planning on using my kimber to shoot but I use it as my CCW and don\’t want to have a race gun on me all day. I\’ve been researching the canik for a little while now and have heard you guys speak pretty highly of it. Have you seen any aftermarket response to it? Any drawbacks that stick out? I feel like at the price range and with all of the glowing reviews i\’ve read that i could probably just figure out the few mods that i\’d want to do with parts for glocks and walthers(grips and magwell mainly).

Again, You guys seriously make my days waaaay more enjoyable. Thank You.

Shoot Straight,

Jared

What I want for Christmas

by Imcafan on Jul 29, 2015
RATING: ★★★★★

I could ask for a new gun or some great reloading stuff. Which I will never get because my wife doesn’t know what to get.I could ask for World Peace but that is never going to happen.I could ask that we wake up and the nightmare called Obama and his cronies was just a horrible dream but unfortunately that will only happen in in 2017 . Hopefully the idiots don’t elect sir Hillary otherwise the nightmare will worsen for 8 more years.I could ask that Bloomberg goes broke, all his illegal mayors go to prison (which several are doing) and Moms Demanding Bedroom action becomes extinct. But as long as idiots procreate then these people will exist.I could ask for any of these but what I really ask for is that my 21 year old daughter becomes cancer free. That she can run and play with her 2 year old and 9 month old again instead of being sick or hospitalized from the chemotherapy or surgeries. This I know we will achieve because of our faith in the power of our Lord. Maybe not for Christmas but hopefully soon after.Larry Cunninghamps. Thanks for the great show. Talon Retention Systems Holsters

With so many companies offering kydex holsters these days, it can be tough to know what manufacturers offer a quality product, and what manufacturers do not. Warner Blake began playing with kydex as a hobby in 2013. He’d grown tired of the high costs, and long turnaround times of many holster companies. Mr. Blake set out to do what any good red blooded American would do: he honed his craft, developed a fantastic product line, and founded Talon Retention Systems. He offers custom and production handmade holsters, magazine carriers, light carriers, knife sheaths, and nearly any other carrier you can imagine. If it can be made out of Kydex, he’s your man. And he does it all at a fair price.

The holster that Mr. Blake made for me was custom molded for my RIA 2011 with a Streamlight TLR-1. This isn’t the easiest combination to find holsters for, so I was pleased that he was willing to make one for me. He used standard black .080 Kydex, and heavy duty injection molded belt loops. There are six rivets on either side of the holster. The belt loops are held on by Chicago type screws, allowing the wearer to adjust the loops up and down to the ride height of their choice. The attention to detail and the quality of the holster is incredible.  Everything fits snugly and cleanly as it should. There’s a very positive click as the pistol locks into the holster. Once the gun is in, it stays put. Retention is excellent. The holster covers the trigger very well, a must for any holster, but it’s still cut low enough to allow a proper grip on the pistol when drawing. This is a feature many holsters miss out on. The holster also features a full sweat guard. The bottom of the holster is left open, allowing for the use of an extended or threaded barrel. The holster is curved and molded to match the curve of the human hip, making it much more comfortable to wear. Even with the weight of a fully loaded 1911 and a light, the holster is easy to wear, and comfortable when paired with my Uncle Mike’s reinforced instructor style belt. Attention to detail is fantastic with beautifully installed hardware and finely blended seams. The two pieces of Kydex that make up the front and rear halves of the holster nearly look like one piece.

When I first got home with the holster it was a very tight fit. So tight, in fact, that attempting to draw the pistol nearly embedded my jeans into the skin on that most sensitive part of the human anatomy. I removed the holster from my belt, and worked on drawing and holstering the pistol for an hour while I watched a couple episodes of Community. Despite my wife’s annoyance (this is not a quiet process) I was able to loosen the holster enough to draw and reholster without giving myself a mega wedgy. In the time since, the holster has not noticeably loosened any further. The holster now provides an excellent smooth draw stroke, and an equally smooth reholster stroke.

Overall I’m incredibly impressed by this holster. The pistol fits tightly. Retention is excellent. I couldn’t be happier with it the product. I love that he was able to make a holster for a fairly unique setup. Pricing is fair; $65 for a holster, $95 for a light bearing holster. Talon Retention stands by their product and offer a lifetime warranty, as well as a seven to ten day turnaround time. That’s right. Between 7 and 10 days.

This is my favorite shooting podcast. I start to get withdrawals as Wednesday approaches. It’s a really good mix of current topics in the firearm community along with helpful tips for all things firearms related. FBI error leads to racist hate crime

Gun owners know that more laws doesn’t lead to less crime. USA Today is reporting that an FBI error on the South Carolina racist shooter’s background check allowed him to purchase the handgun used in the murders.

The Columbia police report included information that Roof admitted to drug possession, which would have triggered a denial by the FBI NICS review process. That information was never seen by the reviewer because the FBI’s database did not include Columbia police contacts in its check of Lexington County, where Roof had been held after the arrest.

Let’s get better at enforcing the laws that we have before we start talking about new ones.

“We are all sick about what happened,” Comey said, adding that he has ordered a review of the gun background check process.

Lil Reads tonight!

18-year-old armed robber Tamon J. Stapleton stormed into the the Breadbox and forced the female employee behind the counter and towards the register at 2:30 AM with a gun to her head. One of the employee’s male friends happened to be in his car in front of the Breadbox. He retrieved his legally-owned pistol from his car and ran into the store, firing a single shot that struck Stapleton in the head, killing him.

Now the mother is demanding homicide charges be pressed against the good guy.

“If the store clerk would have killed him I would have felt different,” said Stapleton. “But because that man came into the store and killed him as he watched this robbery go on…he was not in danger. He could have dialed 911 and then went in to the store. But he didn’t, he just automatically went into the store and shot my son in the head.”

Scarlett: Oh, Ashley, Ashley… …l love you.

Ashley:  Scarlett!

Scarlett: I love you, I do!

Ashley: Well, isn’t it enough that you’ve gathered every other man’s heart today? You’ve always had mine. You cut your teeth on it.

Scarlett: Oh, don’t tease me now. Have I your heart, my darling? I love you, I love you.

Ashley:You mustn’t say such things. You’ll hate me for hearing them.

Scarlett: Oh, I could never hate you, and I know you must care about me. Oh, you do care, don’t you?

Ashley: Yes… …l care. Oh, can’t we go away and forget we ever said these things?

Scarlett: But how can we do that? Don’t you want to marry me?

Ashley: I’m going to marry Melanie.

Scarlett: But you can’t. Not if you care for me.

Ashley: Oh, my dear, why must you make me say things that will hurt you? How can I make you understand? You’re so young and unthinking. You don’t know what marriage means.

Scarlett: I know I love you, and I want to be your wife. You don’t love Melanie.

Ashley: She’s like me, Scarlett. She’s part of my blood and we understand each other.

Scarlett: But you love me.

Ashley: How could I help loving you? You have all the passion for life that I lack. That kind of love isn’t enough for a successful marriage… …for two people as different as we are.

Scarlett: Well, why don’t you say it, you coward? You’re afraid to marry me. You’d rather live with that fool who can’t speak except… …to say “yes” and “no” and raise a passel of mealy-mouthed brats just like her.

Ashley: You mustn’t say such things about Melanie.

Scarlett: Who are you to tell me I mustn’t? You led me on, you made me believe you wanted to marry me.

Ashley: Now, Scarlett, be fair. I never, at any time–

Scarlett: You did, it’s true you did! I’ll hate you till I die! I can’t think of anything bad enough to call you.

<<Sound of loud breaking glass>>

Rhett:  Has the war started?

Scarlett: Sir, you should have made your presence known.

Rhett:  In the middle of that beautiful love scene? That wouldn’t have been very tactful,

would it? But don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.

Scarlett: Sir, you are no gentleman!

Rhett:  And you, Miss, are no lady. Don’t think I hold that against you. Ladies have never held any charm for me.

Scarlett: First you take a low, common advantage of me, then you insult me.

Rhett: I meant it as a compliment and I hope to see more of you… …when you’re free of the spell of the elegant Mr. Wilkes. He doesn’t strike me as half good enough for a girl of your, what was it? Your “passion for living.”

Scarlett: How dare you! You aren’t fit to wipe his boots.

Rhett: And you were going to hate him for the rest of your life.
