When Ruger came out with the RXM, folks said it was just a Glock 19 clone. And it is, except it’s arguably a better Glock 19. By using a modular fire control unit and teaming up with Magpul for the grip frame, Ruger made a great carry platform even better. Magpul is continuing to support the RXM with new frame options, and now they’ve dropped a full-sized grip frame, the Full-Sized Enhanced Handgun Grip.

The RXM Full-Sized Enhanced Handgun Grip
Ruger and Magpul started the RXM line with a mid-sized, Glock 19-sized frame. First, Magpul offered different color frames at reasonable prices. They promised more to come, and now we see the Full-Sized Enhanced Handgun Grips (EHG RG9). This lets you transform your RXM into a full-sized duty gun similar to the Glock 45. Think Glock 17 size grip and a Glock 19 slide.

EHG RG9 Grip Features
Magpul’s frame upgrade transforms the compact Ruger RXM into a full-sized 9mm pistol. It features a precise ¾-scale TSP (Textured Stippling Pattern) applied to the front strap, back strap, side panels, and forward index pads for enhanced grip traction and control. A universal accessory rail accommodates most weapon lights and lasers. The frame has an undercut trigger guard, which allows for a higher hand position for better recoil management.
The magazine-release area is scalloped for access to the textured button. There’s also a flared magwell that ensures faster, more reliable magazine changes under stress. The frame maintains broad compatibility with Magpul GL9 and factory GLOCK magazines. It also accepts many Gen3 pattern magazine releases, slide stops, holsters, and other components.

Magpul ships each frame with a magazine release, magazine-release spring, slide-lock spring, and takedown pin spring.

Hard to Pass Up
The EHG RG9 frames are available in black and stealth gray, currently with OD Green and Flat Dark Earth coming soon. MSRP is only $39.95, making this an affordable update to your RXM.

I don’t need another mid-sized 9mm by any stretch, but I was already tempted by the RXM’s combination of features and attractive price tag. With Magpul dropping more build options at great prices, too, it’s making it hard not to buy one at this point.
