Lochby Field Sling: Instant Access On-the-Go

The Lochby Field Sling delivers instant access without the bulk. Its signature hook latch pops open one‑handed, faster than any zipper, then locks down securely when you’re on the move. The rotating strap connection flows with your body, never fighting angles, so the sling rides naturally whether you’re walking or biking.

Built from water‑resistant waxed canvas, it shrugs off weather and keeps your essentials protected. The lightweight frame and quick‑adjust strap keep the load stable, ache‑free, and dialed in for all‑day wear. Fine‑tune the fit in seconds, cinching or loosening until it sits exactly where you want it.

The Lochby Video Sling

In late January, the Big Show, SHOT Show 2026, took place in Las Vegas, Nevada. I needed a quick-access carrying case for my DJI Osmo Pocket 3. The unit is slim and flies under the radar. Naturally, I needed a carrying system that would follow suit. I was already communicating with the good folks at Lochby about obtaining the Field Sling for this occasion. The timing was right, and the Lochby Field Sling arrived days before my flight.

In video bag mode, the Lochby Field Sling excelled after hours of carrying for five days during a convention.

SHOT Show is a major event in the outdoor industry, and large crowds are part of the experience. I’ve always been a backpack guy—for everything requiring walking the event floors. However, being able to grab my camera, be it video or regular, without stopping and digging through it was essential.

An over-the-shoulder, sling-style bag would be perfect for navigating the narrow, stuffy aisles of SHOT Show. The Lochby Field Sling delivered!

Travel Companion Sling

After Las Vegas, I had a couple of days to pack before heading to Asia for more exploring. The gear list was slim. Everything needed to be multi-functional. The Lochby Field Sling made the cut. Besides, traveling through narrow subways, large crowds of the night markets, and bustling sidewalks requires sleek pouches and carry systems.

In purse mode, the Lochby Field Sling has enough room for a day about town.

When spending a day out in another country, it’s unrealistic to prepare for every possible situation. Instead, focus on what you truly need. Keep your passport with you. I prefer it in my pocket, but in a bag/pouch like the Lochby Field Sling is universally acceptable. A hotel key, unless it’s left at the counter for security reasons. That’s one less thing to worry about.

You should bring a wallet or money pouch, sunglasses, and a camera. Carry a small pack of tissues, as different places have varying standards and quantities for napkins and toilet paper. Additionally, consider packing lip balm, mints, a hanky, and a handy tool like a Swiss Army Knife.

I left out a cell phone because I feel it’s something that should be in your pocket. It holds the most vital info and should be readily accessible. However, that’s only my belief. Either way, all of these items I mentioned fit into the Lochby Field Sling!
