Barrett MRAD Tags Bigfoot at 1 Mile!

Barrett rifles are legendary for their long-range precision, mainly because they are known for their huge, long-range cartridges such as 50 BMG and even Barrett's own 416. But now the Tennessee-based firm is downsizing with a fully modular platform that can be fired using the inherently accurate 300 PRC round. It's about as small of a cartridge as feasible for one mile shooting, but as JJ found, man is it accurate--and fun! JJ shoots at Branded Rock Canyon's notoriously windy range, but has no problem putting his second and subsequent shots on the 9 ft. Bigfoot target stationed 1774 yards down range. Sure, the rifles are expensive, but JJ feels every legal American should own at least one Barrett. Especially if you're a Yeti hunter!

At an early age Jeff was kicked in the face by an exposed hammer shotgun, stunting his growth but also sparking a passion for guns, hunting and the outdoors. Since the crack of that old gun, he's traveled the world, hunting, shooting and writing for national outdoor magazines. His Youtube page adds a bit of practicality to tacticality, dispels hunting and shooting myths, gives fairly honest reviews of guns and gear because he's not beholden to anyone, and offers real-world based tips--that might well be wrong. Rest assured, Jeff is no Navy SEAL, although he stayed at a Holiday Inn once in San Diego.
