Don’t laugh, Pykrete, frozen composite material made from sawdust or paper products and ice is really strong. In fact, during World War II, the British looked into using Pykrete to make a virtually unsinkable aircraft carrier during Project Habakkuk, but that’s a different story.

And one that was about as successful as these shotgun shells.
