Railroad plates vs .50-cal BMG of various pedigree (VIDEO)

Edwin Sarkissian armors up to fire some shots through a few surplus rail tie plates with a Serbu BFG-50A to get a handle on just how much BMG they can handle.

Tie plates, also apparently called base plates or sole plates in the railway business, are used to join the wooden sleepers (ties) to the sections of rail themselves– just in case you are curious– and are capable of taking a lot of punishment. Like maybe the punishment of 671-grains of .50 cal.

As a control after he makes a piece of modern art, Sarkissian rings one of the plates with a 9mm and it barely even scratched the surface.
