Highlights From Shot Show Day 1

The news has just been flooding out of shot show. In an effort to minimize the noise instead of reporting on everything new we will try to highlight the products that would be the most practical or cutting edge.

FAB Defense GL-MAG Stock

FAB Defense GL-MAG Stock with 10 round magazine

Fab Defense has developed an AR-15 stock that is designed to hold an additional magazine. Releases are ambidextrous to accommodate all shooters. The magazine position is dead center and according to Fab Defense will not interfere with manipulation of the firearm. We are looking forward to getting our hands on one to see if this is the case.
In the image above the magazine is a 10 rounder. As you move to larger magazines manipulation may become more difficult. However as a nice way to carry a last ditch emergency few rounds this could be a great idea. Strapping this to a Go gun or SHTF weapon would not be a bad idea.
Fab Defense has also included the standard features we have come to expect on tactical stocks such as a QD swivel connector as well as a patented anto-rattle technology for both mil-spec and the commercial buffer tubes.

Turtle Skin Tactical Gloves

Designed to withstand 28 gauge needles
Designed to withstand 28 gauge needles

If you are in law enforcement, first responder or just a neighborhood activist looking to clean up parts of the city you have come across abandoned drug needles. These thin often 28 gauge needles are especially dangerous due to both the small size that works its way through traditional gloves and due to the high infection concerns associated with IV drug use.
Turtle Skin has rel;eased a tactical glove that is claimed to stop a 28 gauge needle with up to 1.1 foot lb’s of pressure from failing. This is the type of product that can actually make a real difference to those exposed to environments where drugs are an issue. LEO, paramedicas, correction officers come to mind. We will be keeping a close eye on these guys.

RTS Target Portable Wireless Hit Counter System

Long range shooting is something I am coming to love more and more. What I do not love is that my eyes are not as good as they used to be and the walk to the target keeps getting longer and longer as the day goes on. RTS has developed a self healing non metallic target designed to quickly and clearly display hits .
The beginners kit comes with 5 targets, 5 sensors, 1 Counter, and 2 remotes. It is designed to work with the full line of RTS targets. Due to the nature of the non-metallic self healing material backsplash is not an issue. I know I look forward to bringing these to a range soon.

NEw to shot show is a Indiegogo project called TargetViewer. This small and wireless product is designed to allow you top see exactly where you are hitting the target at very long ranges.  With an advertised range up to 1000yards the remote camera will send an image to a remote viewer. The viewer is an Ipad or Iphone or wifi enabled Android device.
MSRP listed at $1295 but available through Indiegogo for $895.
