Citadel Cerakote M-1911: high-end features, moderate price

Legacy Sports International announced last week the availability of a Citadel M-1911 in a new finish: Cerakote flat dark earth.

Citadel M1911s are made with features normally found on premium guns, at a moderate price. Those features include a grooved slide stop, flared ejection port skeletonized hammer and trigger, beveled magwell, a grip safety with an extended beavertail, and an extended thumb safety.

The guns are available in 45 ACP or 9mm caliber. The 45 holds eight rounds; capacity of the 9mm is eight rounds.

There are two sizes in this line. The full size model has a five-inch barrel, full guide rod, two magazines, and an ambi thumb safety. Compact models have a 3.5-inch, bushing-less barrel, and two magazines. Both models have Hogue G10 Piranha grips.

The full size model’s overall length is 8.7 inches; the weight 36.8 ounces. In compact size, overall length is 7.5 inches; weight is a hefty 33 ounces. MSRP is $796.00.
