I’ve Been wanting a Kel Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2 for quite some time. I actually had a Generation 1 some years ago and is the only gun I’ve ever regretted selling. I want a very specific model, the Kelt Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2, in 9mm, that takes Glock magazines. My search has forced me to have patience because I wasn’t going to overpay for one either. Luckily my FFL sent me a text message, with a picture of a Sub 2K, with a Glock 33 rounder beside it. I told him to wrap it up, and I was on my way.
Overview of the Kel Tec Sub 2000 Gen 2
One of the biggest appeals of this rifle is the fact it folds in half for easy storage and transportation. This unique little tube style carbine is very light, and very handy. It weighs a mere 4.35 pounds. When folded it’s only 16.25 x 7 inches.
The SUB 2K comes in both 40 S&W and 9 mm, and can take the magazines from Glocks, Sig P226s, Beretta 92s and 96s, and Smith and Wesson MK&P 9 and 40 magazines. You have lots of choices, Glock was my choice because of multiple quality options and multiple capacity options. The Glock models can be a full sized grip variant or a compact grip variant.
The Kel tec Sub 2000 Gen 2 made some noticeable improvements over Gen 1 weapons. This includes top and bottom rails on the hand guard. The sides of the hand guard are fitted with MLOK slots for additional rails. The stock is also three position adjustable. The stock is outfitted with multiple sling points as well.
I am pumped to get out there and test this rifle. I have a little vacation time saved up and plan to spend a few days at the range doing a lot of testing. I’m also hoping to test a variety of different Glock Magazines through the weapon. I loved my old Kel Tec Sub 2k , so hopefully the Gen 2 keeps that love alive.
